A Women's Conference

Over this past weekend, I got to attend a very special LDS Women's Conference Broadcast from Utah.  It was really good, I love up-beat, inspiring, motivating, Christian conferences because I leave feeling so full of joy and peace and creativity.  Here is a LINK if you want to know more about the conference I saw, because you can now watch it or read it online.

Some of the focal points of this conference are: 1. Defend the family, 2. Server others by finding a way to help lift burdens, 3. Be true to one's self

How can I defend my family through my Etsy shop?  By being true to myself, allowing myself to be brave enough to share my God given talents with others.  By showing my children a good example of setting a goal, and working really hard on that goal, and that no matter what having fun while working on this goal, so if I'm not successful monetarily, I'm still successful because I shared my talents that I thought were worthless until recently.

How can I serve others and find a way to help lift burdens of others through my Etsy shop?  By painting uplifting, motivating paintings people can put in their homes, their offices or whatnot.  By using my motto which is "By bringing a Bit of Beauty to Your Life!".  What I do makes be happy, so as I share it I'm sharing my happiness.  What I do I feel is beautiful, so when I share it I'm sharing a bit of beauty.  As I do what I do, I remember the sorrow, pain, and anguish I have personally experienced over my life and understand that everyone is experiencing some degree of that on a daily basis, so I will choose to share joy which over comes sorrow.

How can I be true to myself through my Etsy shop?  Tons of people I know through my Etsp shop Facebook groups also sell and create jewelry, some more beautiful and more creative than mine, but instead of feeling sad and depressed because someone else is doing it too.  No one is making jewelry exactly like me.  No one is selling paintings that are done just like mine, so there is hope that someone will see what I do and enjoy it....because I was true to myself.

All this leads me to my excellent news.  TOMORROW I'm LAUNCHING my SHOP!  FINALLY!  YEAH!  YIPPEE!

Preparing for our Booth

Okay, so this is my first ever time to do a craft show where people will come to my booth.  I have been to many craft shows, vending opps, and other such activities with booths, and people selling their hand goods.

After reading lots of blog articles and Pinterest lists, I have been slowly making a list for myself of things to prepare for my shared booth for the craft show.

  • Bowl for scarf scrunchies
  • Earring Stands
  • Necklaces Stands
  • Raffel Jar and paper scraps
  • Painting sections, with clip board for orders

  • Hand Painted sign
  • Sea Shells
  • Sand (?)
  • Sun Glasses
  • Business cards
  • Business Card holder
  • Table Cloth
  • Chairs
  • tape, safety pins, money
My lists just keep getting longer and a little more chaotic, but some how its keeping me organized

  • Bracelets (braided)
  • Necklaces (one of a kind)

Vending

I'm super excited to announce this cool event coming up for Sand Glasses Design.  My Sister-In-Law and I are going to go help a local Charter school with their fundraising for their students.  We will be combining our supplies and selling together.  This is super fun, so over the next few weeks we'll be putting together our table display decorations!

Zen Pose Painting

I first came into the world of painting on other objects when I went through college.  My Art History teacher made our class super fun, exciting, and hands on, and this was just learning about basic Art History.  I remember little of what she actually taught, but I remember making a wax target painting with my class partner for one of our projects, we used cardboard just like the artist we were studying.  We went to the Art Museum in Raleigh North Carolina to see moving paper sculptures, Jackson Pollack paintings, glass paintings, canvas and other multi-media works of art.

This Art History class was taken 10 years ago, but I have never forgotten to try art on unique media for a great work of art stand out from the rest.  That is one of the reasons I love painting on glass and turning parts of the painting into mirrors, or being able to paint on a framed mirror.

Here is just one example of what I do with this work.  As you look at the painting place yourself in the mirrored image and feel her peace.

Happy 9th Anniversary

Today is my 9 year anniversary being married to my best friend, my support, the father of our children, my Husband.  It has been a crazy roller coaster ride, that I would have enjoyed.  We have learned, grown, discovered, together all these years and know we have more yet to look forwards too.  In honor of our special day, here are some fun pictures I have put together of just a small amount of product I have been working on.  Enjoy~
